The Southport Sharks would like to congratulate Jacob Heron, who will play his 50th game for the club on Saturday against the Giants at Fankhauser Reserve.
The North Queenslander joined the club ahead of the 2022 VFL season and he has been an important member of the Sharks midfield ever since.
Before joining the Sharks, Heron played 13 AFL games for the Gold Coast SUNS and had a stint on North Melbourne’s VFL list in 2021.
Heron finished in the top 10 in the best and fairest in 2022, the year Southport made the VFL Grand Final.
This year Heron is averaging 21 disposals, three marks and five tackles a game.
His best game was against Frankston in Round 9 when he had 31 disposals, 14 inside 50s and ten clearances.
Southport’s General Manager of Football Operations Jarrod Field, “Jacob’s pace and ability to break the game open is very special.”
“We are very fortunate to have Jacob at the club and we wish him all the best this weekend in his 50th game.”
