The Southport Sharks have kept their season alive with a much needed 40 point win, over Coburg Lions on Saturday afternoon at Fankhauser Reserve.

Southport’s Co-Captain Jacob Dawson was the star of the show with 48 disposals and 12 clearances, in the gritty 15.12 (102) to 9.8 (62) win.

The Sharks started well, but the Lions slowly got themselves back into the contest and hit the front in the third quarter.

Despite trailing by four points at three quarter time, the Sharks did not panic and kicked away in the last quarter with eight goals to one.
