The Southport Sharks are pleased to announce the return of Jacob Townsend to the club for the remainder of the 2024 season.

The Southport Sharks are pleased to announce the return of Jacob Townsend to the club for the remainder of the 2024 season.

Townsend was an AFL premiership player with Richmond in 2017. He also won the J.J Liston Trophy (VFL Best and Fairest) in 2017 and a VFL premiership with Richmond in 2019.

In 2022, he played for Southport in the year they made the VFL Grand Final, and was the leading goal kicker with 37 goals.

Southport’s General Manager of Football Operations, Jarrod Field, said, “We are delighted that Jacob has agreed to return to the club for the rest of the year.”

“He will be a great addition to our forward line as we head into the last five home and away games of the season.”
