Southport defeated Coorparoo by 91 points, winning 14.8 (92) to 0.1 (1).

The Sharks led by 28 points at the main break, before the ladder leaders dominated in the second half kicking ten goals to zero.

After the game Southport Coach Matt Lappin said, “It was a tough first half. Coorparoo had good energy and a solid plan to try and shut us down.”

“We were able to capitalise on the scoreboard in the second half though, with our fast ball movement and efficiency Inside 50.”

“In the end, it was a very good result for us. All our midfielders played well, we had an even spread of goal kickers and our backs only gave up one point for the whole game.”

Southport have a bye next week. The following week they travel to the Sunshine Coast to take on Maroochydore at Neil Upton Oval on Saturday 31 May at 2pm.
