For the third consecutive year, Jacob Dawson and Brayden Crossley have been appointed as the VFL sides co-captains, while Zac Foot will remain as the sole vice-captain.
It will be Dawson’s fifth year undertaking the co-captaincy. For Crossley and Foot, it will mark their third years in their respective roles.
The captains will also be supported by a trio of club veterans, with Jesse Joyce, Michael Manteit and Max Spencer making up the extended group.
Southport VFL Head Coach Matt Primus said, “It’s terrific to have Jacob and Brayden get the players votes again. They’ve been outstanding dual captains over the last couple of years, and they’ll continue in that role supported by Zac.
“It’s also been great to have three of our senior guys who have been around for a long time, Max Spencer Jesse Joyce and Mick Manteit in that leadership group. To have senior players who drive the standards and want to make other players around them a lot better, really helps.
“We have a mature group of guys who are here to keep driving this club and make it as good as they can. Different group, different personalities, but a really good leadership group to help us in season 2026.”
Southport’s season will commence this Saturday 21 March, in their Round 1 clash against Richmond at Kinetic Stadium Frankston 9:00am AEST.
