Promising young talent Josh Cresswell has signed with the Southport Sharks ahead of the 2025 VFL season.

This year, Cresswell played for the Sandringham Dragons in the Coates League and also won a senior men’s premiership with the South Cairns Cutters.

Cresswell played his junior football in Tasmania but was also part of the Giants Academy when he lived in the Ovens and Murray in regional New South Wales.

The 18-year-old comes from an impressive football pedigree as he is the son of former Sydney Swans player and 1997 All-Australian Daryn Cresswell.

Southport’s General Manager of Football Operations, Jarrod Field, commented, “We are pleased to welcome Josh to the club and are excited about his potential.”
