Southport defeated Morningside by 79 points, winning 14.16 (100) to 3.3 (21) to secure their spot in the 2025 Grand Final.

The Sharks started well kicking the first three goals of the match, before the Panthers steadied with a goal just before quarter time.
The second and third terms played out the same, Southport scored the first three goals and then Morningside kicked a goal late in the quarter.
In the final quarter though, Southport dominated piling on five goals to zero.
Dekota Baron kicked four majors, whilst Hannah Davies and Caitlin Miller kicked three each.
Georja Davies was terrific in the ruck with 26 disposals, 30 hit outs, six marks, four tackles and eight clearances.
Kierra Zerafa (35 disposals, five marks, five clearances and four tackles) and Sunny Lappin (30 disposals, nine marks and four clearances) were also very damaging.
Down back, Lily McDonald and Megan Hunt were solid with three intercept marks each.
After the game Southport Coach Matt Lappin said, “It was a really hard game of footy.”
“We needed to match Morningside’s contest and hunt for the ball early and then open the game up.”
“I felt like the longer the game went, the more we were able to pull away because we wanted to play fast for the whole time.”
“I’ve been blown away how willing they are to work. Our goal at the start of the pre-season was to be the fittest team in the competition and I think today that was our big advantage.”
“Our players were amazing under the pressure of a final, and now in a great position, having a week off before the Grand Final.”
Southport will now play in the QAFLW Grand Final which will be held at Brighton Homes Arena on Sunday 7 September. Time TBC.

Southport defeated Bond by 61 points, winning 10.7 (67) to 1.0 (6) and are through to the 2025 Grand Final.

In the first quarter Southport had five scoring shots to zero but were only able to score one major.
Bond kicked the first goal of the second quarter to cut the margin back to four points early in the second quarter.
The Sharks kicked a goal just before half time to extend the margin to 11 points at the main break.
In the second half though, Southport dominated kicking eight goals to zero.
Alicia Gordon kicked four goals for the match, whilst Jo-Anna Baltais and Lilly-ann Ryder kicked two each.
After the game Southport Coach Shannan Tate said, “We knew Bond would bring the heat and defend well, and we prepared for that.”
“I thought we started the game very well even though we couldn’t convert.”
“In the second half the girls did a great job at moving the ball quicker and get better entries inside 50, which was pleasing.”
“The group has as a whole has been really united all year, and we are excited for next Sunday.”
