The Southport Sharks would like to congratulate Boyd Woodcock and Max Spencer, who will be playing their 50th game for Southport this Saturday against Carlton.
Both players joined the Sharks ahead of the 2022 season and have since become integral members of the team.
Before joining the Sharks, Boyd Woodcock played 12 AFL games for Port Adelaide and Max Spencer played eight games for the Gold Coast Suns.
In Woodcock’s time at the Sharks, the midfielder has been named in the VFL Team of the Year twice, finished second in the Doc Mackenzie Medal (Southport Best and Fairest) count twice, finished second in the J.J. Liston Trophy (VFL Best and Fairest) count twice, was named Southport’s best finals player in 2022 and played in the VFL’s representative side this year.
Both Woodcock and Spencer have won the Alex Aurrichio Medal which is awarded to the best on ground for when the Southport Sharks play the Northern Bullants.
Spencer has been very important for the Sharks in defence, finishing in the club’s top ten in the best and fairest the past two seasons.
Southport’s General Manager of Football Operations, Jarrod Field, said, “We have been really impressed with how well Boyd and Max have represented the club over the past two and half seasons.”
“They both bring great experience from playing at the highest level, and it has been terrific to have them at the club.”
“We wish them all the best in their milestone game, and hopefully we will be able to celebrate with a win.”
