The Southport Sharks would like to congratulate Darcie Davies who has been added to the Gold Coast Suns AFLW Primary List.
The Gold Coast Suns were given special dispensation to add Darcie as a 17-year-old under the category of “Northern Academy Pre-Selection”.
Three of the four Davies sisters are now on AFLW Lists with Giselle also at the Suns and Fleur at the Giants.
The youngest Georja plays QAFLW at Sharks and is currently playing for Queensland in the Under 16 National Championships.
All four have come through the Southport Sharks Junior Club pathway and have been a part of the QAFLW program.
Darcie has played 13 games of QAFLW Seniors as a forward/ruck and played in last year’s QAFLW Seniors Grand Final.
Her most notable game was her debut against Yeronga, where she kicked five goals.
Darcie has also been a part of the Sun’s Academy, NAB AFLW Academy and is also a talented netballer.
Southport’s General Manager of Football, Jarrod Field said, “Darcie is a very talented footballer and has a super exciting future ahead of her.”
“We wish her all the best and can’t wait to see her hopefully making her AFLW this year.”
The tally of Southport Juniors and Seniors getting on to AFLW lists is now 13.
